Times and accuracy
How accurate are the sunrise and sunset times?
YUHI calculates the sun and moon on your device with standard astronomical formulas, accurate to within about a minute. Real-world times can differ slightly because of mountains, buildings and unusual atmospheric conditions near the horizon.
What counts as golden hour and blue hour?
Golden hour is when the sun is between −4° and +6° altitude. Blue hour is when it's between −6° and −4°. Civil, nautical and astronomical twilight end at −6°, −12° and −18°.
Why is there no sunset today?
Near the poles the sun can stay up all day in summer or stay below the horizon in winter. On those days there's simply no sunrise or sunset to show, and YUHI lists the events that do happen.
Times show in the wrong format (12 vs 24-hour).
YUHI follows your device's setting. Change it in Settings › General › Date & Time › 24-Hour Time, or choose a format in YUHI's own Settings.
Location and places
Do I have to share my location?
No. You can add places by searching for a city or dropping a pin. If you do allow location, it's used on your device only and never sent to us.
My times are for the wrong place.
Check which place is selected at the top of the Today screen. If you're using your current location, make sure Location Services is on for YUHI in Settings › Privacy & Security › Location Services.
Alerts, widgets and Watch
I'm not getting alerts.
Make sure notifications are allowed for YUHI in Settings › Notifications › YUHI, and that a Focus mode isn't silencing them. Opening YUHI now and then keeps your upcoming alerts scheduled.
How do I add a widget?
Touch and hold your Home Screen or Lock Screen, tap Edit › Add Widget, then search for YUHI. On Apple Watch, add YUHI as a complication when editing a watch face, or find it in the Smart Stack.
My widget shows old times.
iOS refreshes widgets on its own schedule. Opening YUHI once updates them straight away. Times are calculated ahead, so they stay correct even when the widget hasn't refreshed recently.
My places don't appear on my other devices.
Sync uses your iCloud account. Check that you're signed in to the same Apple Account on each device and that iCloud is on for YUHI. Changes usually arrive within a minute.
Everything else
Is YUHI really free?
Yes — every feature is free at launch, with no ads and no in-app purchases. If paid plans arrive later, people who already use YUHI will keep what they already have.
Which devices are supported?
iPhone and iPad with iOS / iPadOS 27, and Apple Watch with watchOS 27.
How do I suggest a feature or report a bug?
